The story first appeared in Topolino 1411 on 12/19/1982, divided into three parts, and ended in issue 1413 on December 26, celebrating Christmas and giving a story with a Christmassy spirit to readers of the time. In the following two years, always during the Christmas holidays, two more episodes followed: Topolino e il Torneo dell'Argaar in 1983 and Topolino e il ritorno del โ€œPrincipe delle Mistieโ€ in 1984, constituting what will be defined and often remembered as the Ice Sword Trilogy .

In January 1993, about 10 years later, a fourth chapter was published, entitled Mickey Mouse and Sleeping Beauty in the Cosmos , again written by De Vita, this time with the help of Fabio Michelini on the texts.

So we arrive at Wednesday, November 30, 2022, with the release on newsstands and in comic book stores of Topolino 3497 , in which the first of four parts of Mickey Mouse and the Legend of the Ice Sword is published, entitled โ€œA Land Without Heroesโ€, a story written by Marco Nucci with drawings and inks by Cristian Canfailla and colored by the Maaw Illustration Art Team of Angela Capolupo and Michela Frare. The fascinating cover is the work of Andrea Freccero, artistic supervisor of the weekly, with colors by the skilled and tested Andrea Cagol.
