Dylan Dog #463 – "You Shouldn't Be Here"
03/28/2025
Violet is tormented by continuous déjà-vu, convinced that she has undergone illegal experiments during a therapy for a brain tumor. She turns to Dylan Dog to shed light on the truth. In the meantime, mysterious nightmarish deaths shake the city. Dylan investigates, unaware that he is being watched by those who guard a truth capable of redefining the boundary between dream and reality.
In this album, Barbara Baraldi offers Davide Furnò the opportunity to express himself with an excellent mix of genres, going from the dreamlike to the horror, from the metaphysical to the hallucinatory. Although the basic idea of the story, about déjà vu as residual traces of "too dangerous" dreams erased by a secret organization, might seem intriguing, the narration lacks real strength and is rather dispersive.
The real strength of this album is undoubtedly the artistic talent of Furnò, who gives exceptional tables. However, the plot is empty, with episodic events that do not involve and secondary characters that add nothing to the story. Dylan Dog, in this context, appears more reckless and dogmatic than ever, while Groucho offers weak jokes to the customer Violet.
