Paperinik Appgrade is a monthly magazine published by Panini Comics that, with rare exceptions, contains only stories featuring Paperinik himself. Since January 2017, after issue 51, Panini has relaunched the series, which has been renamed simply "Paperinik" with a new numbering and, at the same time, keeping the old one. The stories are divided into: 1 unpublished story; 4-6 reprinted stories usually chosen for a certain thematic affinity; 1 cult story, a reprint of the classic Paperinik stories written by Guido Martina, which are accompanied by short introductory articles.

Paperinik Appgrade: Editorial history

The first issue was released in October 2012. The format is a paperback booklet, like that of the weekly magazine Topolino, and distances itself from PKna, which is instead stapled. The covers, metallized to give a “technological” feel, are created by Andrea Freccero and will prove to be one of the strong points of the magazine. The structure of the individual issues is more or less always the same: unpublished story, reprints of old stories, “cult” story, that is, an old adventure (perhaps by Martina) that is more famous and of quality. The series ends in December 2016, with issue 51, dragging a bit languidly towards the end, without any noteworthy highlights.
