Women's Soccer: The First Panini Album in History!
Women's football reaches a historic milestone: for the first time, the Women's Serie A has its own Panini sticker album! "Calciatrici 2024-2025" is the first paper album dedicated to the protagonists of Italian women's football, officially presented in Rome at the Aleph Rome Hotel.
An emotional moment that marks the growing importance of the women's movement in the sports landscape. Present at the event were prominent figures such as the president of the FIGC Gabriele Gravina , the president of the Professional Women's Serie A Division Federica Cappelletti and the director of the Italian market of Panini, Alex Bertani . Adding prestige to the event were the participation of Gianluigi Buffon , the coach of the Women's National Team Andrea Soncin and the same players who are the protagonists of the album.
The album, composed of 322 stickers to be collected in 48 pages , celebrates the athletes and Italian clubs, underlining the growth and affirmation of women's football. "After 64 editions of the men's album , finally having one dedicated to female footballers is a huge emotion. This is the demonstration that women's football is growing and becoming increasingly important", declared Federica Cappelletti .
The women's movement continues to expand: there are over 42,000 registered female footballers in Italy , a number that has more than doubled compared to ten years ago. However, the sector still faces economic and structural challenges to consolidate its professional status.
Another great satisfaction for Italian women's football comes with Manuela Giugliano, the first Italian footballer nominated for the Ballon d'Or in 2024. A sign of how much the movement is gaining recognition and visibility at an international level.
The album " Calciatrici 2024-2025 " is not just a collection of stickers, but a symbol of an epochal turning point : women's football finally enters the Olympus of major competitions recognized by the public and the market. A fundamental step forward for an increasingly fair and inclusive future in the world of sport.
