Batman: The Last Halloween – The Greatest Story Ever?

The Batman: The Long Halloween saga has profoundly marked the mythology of the Dark Knight, inspiring films, TV series and leaving an indelible mark on comics. Now, almost thirty years later, Jeph Loeb returns with Batman: The Last Halloween , a miniseries that definitively closes the war between the freaks and the crime families of Gotham.

A Tribute to Tim Sale

The new miniseries was planned by Loeb together with Tim Sale before the artist's untimely death in 2022. To carry out the project, DC Comics entrusted the drawings to a team of high-level artists, including Eduardo Risso, Klaus Janson and Mark Chiarello. The result is a work that pays homage to Sale's work, maintaining the noir and dark atmosphere that made The Long Halloween iconic .

Batman Comics: The Last Halloween

The series will consist of 10 mini-albums , with a periodic release. Currently, only 3 have been released , each also available in variant cover version:

• Batman: The Last Halloween 1 – Illustrated by Eduardo Risso, the first chapter picks up where the events left off and introduces a new mystery involving Jim Gordon. What's happening in Gotham?

• Batman: The Last Halloween 2 – Klaus Janson signs the second part, in which Batman and Robin delve into the depths of Arkham Asylum in search of answers. What secrets are hidden within the walls of the most dangerous asylum in Gotham?

• Batman: The Last Halloween 3 – Mark Chiarello illustrates the final act of the saga: Christmas is upon us, but little James Gordon Jr. has disappeared. Batman will have to call upon all his allies (and enemies) to solve the case.

A Definitive Ending for a Legendary Saga

Jeph Loeb has stated that this miniseries will close forever the narrative cycle that began in 1996 with The Long Halloween . A chapter that will reveal buried secrets and will bring Batman face to face with his past.

The series, published in Italy by Panini Comics, is available in stapled format starting from November 2024, with Regular and Variant editions.
