🐭 Topolino 3660: when Donald Duck speaks in dialect!
January 2026 marks another very special release for Mickey Mouse fans: issue 3660 of the famous comic weekly returns to speaking in dialect , celebrating the National Day of Dialect and Local Languages (17 January).
📚 A tradition that continues
This isn't the first time Topolino has experimented with regional Italian dialects: after the great success of issues 3608 and 3619 , which had already featured stories in Catania, Milanese, Neapolitan, Roman, Bari and other dialects, the editorial team is reviving the idea with a new, fun and original episode.
📖 The story: Donald Duck polishes his home
At the center of issue 3660 is the story "Donald Duck Polisher at Home," written by Vito Stabile and illustrated by Francesco D'Ippolito . This adventure is offered not only in the standard Italian version, but also in four regional dialects :
The selection of these dialects is designed to reach specific linguistic areas — Emilia-Romagna, Liguria, Calabria and Valle d'Aosta — but thanks to online channels such as Panini.it and comic book shops, collectors and readers from other regions can also get hold of them before they run out.
🎨 A collectible cover
Like the previous special editions, this issue is also accompanied by a unique cover , created by Andrea Freccero , which depicts Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge in poses that already make collectors dream.

According to editorial director Alex Bertani, the choice to publish stories in dialect stems not only from the desire to enhance the richness of Italian language, but also to exploit the comic and human potential of local dialects : often, it is precisely in dialects that nuances of irony and character emerge that are difficult to convey in standard Italian.
